Transfer Summer Scholars

The Transfer Summer Scholars Program is a FREE academic skills course held over the summer. You can choose a 4-week course providing either hybrid or online options. Students earn three upper-division credits for FREE for completion of this program.

This program is intended to help support a smooth transfer to PSU. It is designed to introduce transfer students to PSU, the resources that we offer, and support for planning how you’ll complete your degree.

July 1st is the Priority Deadline to confirm your spot.

Coursework

You’ll earn 3 upper-division credits toward graduation. This course is offered in two different formats, including online and a hybrid course with both an online and an on-campus in-person component. 

  • Hybrid: Courses meet for in-person meetings one day per week, with additional online course content
    • 4-week Hybrid Course (August 26 - September 19, 2024) - Tuesdays, 4:00 pm - 7:30 pm
  • Online: Fully online course option
    • 4-week Online Course (August 26 - September 19, 2024)

Academic Skills

It’s time to begin your journey at PSU, and the Academic Skills course is the perfect first step. This class is designed to ease your transition to PSU by helping you articulate your academic values and personal goals. You will explore motivation and growth mindset while practicing effective study strategies. This class will show you all PSU has to offer and welcome you to the campus community.

Additionally, scholars will receive holistic support throughout the academic year from the Transfer and Returning Student Resource Center and the Learning Center.

Campus Activities

Students will have opportunities to participate in events, share meals, study with one another, and build connections with others in the PSU community.

Notifications

If you are required to participate in the Transfer Summer Scholars program, you will be notified via email. Eligible students must complete the Transfer Summer Scholars Confirmation Form to save their spot.
