PERS/OPSRP (Tier Definitions)
Tier One: If you were hired into a qualifying position before January 1, 1996.
Tier Two: If you were hired into a qualifying position on or after January 1, 1996, and before August 29, 2003.
Retirement Plan (OPSRP): For employees hired after August 29, 2003.
- Employee Contribution:ÌýÃå±±½ûµØ pays 6% of gross monthly salary each month (vests immediately). This individual account program (IAP) is managed by the Oregon Investment Council through PERS.
- Employer Contribution:ÌýÃå±±½ûµØ pays each month into a defined benefit pension plan. Pension benefits are based on a formula: 1.5 percent x years of retirement credit x final average salary. (Vesting after 5 years of contributions or age 65).

ORP (Tier Definitions)
Tier One: If you were hired into a qualifying position before January 1, 1996.
Tier Two: If you were hired into a qualifying position on or after January 1, 1996, and before August 29, 2003.
Tier Three: If you were hired into a qualifying position on or after August 29, 2003, and before July 1, 2014.
Tier Four: For employees hired after June 30, 2014.
